There’s nothing more exciting that cosying up under canvas! Kids will love the excitement of sleeping in a tent and being outside. Playing outside, enjoying food cooked on the camping stove, barbecues, and toasted marshmallows, there really is nothing like a family camping holiday.
2. Camping in Cornwall is a great way to unplug and unwind.
A camping holiday certainly encourages everyone to enjoy the more basic ways of life. Everyone will love being closer to nature, as well as playing games, such as cards, ball games and board games.
You will be camping in our beautiful park, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Hendra is situated in the Cornish countryside, just minutes away from Newquay’s amazing beaches. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors, with our outdoor play areas, outside pool (open from the end of May until the end of August), daily land train, and a range of outdoor activities.
With the beach only minutes away, there’s ample opportunity to enjoy the sand and sea, whether that’s swimming, belly boarding (why not hire one of our eco-friendly belly boards from Reception?) or book some surf lessons with SSS Surf School! Whatever you do, being outside will rejuvenate you all.
3.But there’s also fantastic facilities, so you can still be comfortable!
Just because you are camping, it doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to have some home comforts. Our pitches have electric hook-ups, if needed, and you are never far away from one of our award-winning toilet and shower blocks. With hairdryers and plugs, as well as ample showers.

There’s of course our Oasis Fun Pools, one of the biggest indoor fun pools in the South West with 3 flumes, including a 265ft super flume, 4 eateries, amusements, play areas, indoor and out, Adventure golf, daily activities and evening entertainment. 4. Enjoy the wildlife.
We share Hendra with local wildlife, and we like to work with the wildlife, not against it! After all it is their home too!
If you want to learn all about the wildlife at Hendra, then pick up our self-guided nature trail from Reception, which will take you around the park to view various nature highlights. Visit our bug hotel in Oak, spot our bat house, outside the Playloft, see the wildflowers to keep those very important bees happy and maybe sneak a peak at a hedgehog in the evening!
Or go on our Nature Rangers tour, with our very own Park Ranger. Get a brilliant guided tour of the Park, and at the end of the tour get your own certificate.
Also, remember that we are by the sea and that means seagulls – they can be noisy and very greedy! Please put your rubbish in the bins around the site and do not feed the seagulls; this keeps the site tidier, and the seagulls less aggressive.
